Perfectly Strong Women: Jena Holliday (+ Giveaway)

Four years ago, as a new mom, Jena Holliday shifted her focus from a career in marketing and social media to embark on a new journey filled with art, creativity and faith to follow her dreams!

What is your definition of a Perfectly Strong Woman?
I think a perfectly strong woman is someone who is confident in their own identity. Someone that doesn’t shrink when others are around, but shines. Someone that can stand firm in who she is and what she believes no matter if it’s the opposite of what’s the norm.

Name the one woman who has been most influential in pursuing your dream/craft.
I have a nice list of artists that inspired me creatively – but I really look up to my mother as inspiration. She always encouraged me and my siblings and always let us know that we were capable of doing great things. She always pushed us in what we loved or felt called to. I now know as an adult that isn’t always the norm in other households. I cherish it much today.

Tell us more about your business.
I have a strong background in marketing and social media, and have worked with large corporations and brand for much of my adult life. I have been an artist since I was a child. About 4 years ago, when I became a mother – I embarked on a new journey filled with art, creativity and faith to follow my dreams! I started Spoonful of Faith, my art studio under which I own and operate business. I have used my marketing background and love for art and creativity to create a fun and exciting business where I handcrafted pieces, designs and illustrations for individuals, brands, and other creatives. I have also used it as a platform to help other women and mothers follow their dreams. I run a community – Mother Creative that gives encouragement and helpful tips and tricks to doing this entrepreneur thing as a creative woman. I am currently working on launching some quick online tutorials for art and classes on the business within art. On top of that I run a small shop where I sell one of a kind pieces. It has been exciting and I am excited to continue to push myself in this area.

What is one piece of advice that you would give a young woman aspiring to fulfill her dream?
You build a successful life, one day at a time. So keep your focus on what you can do today that will align with where you are going. Before you know it, you will be there.

As a busy woman, what is a time-saving technique or life hack that you would share?
For me my days got easier when I got up early in the morning. I haven’t always been morning person, but now as a mother of two, I know that if I don’t get ahead of my day – I might feel bogged down by it. Being up early before the rest of the world awakes, allows me time to meditate, relax, and calmly plan out my day. Even if things don’t go as planned this helps mentally in such tremendous ways.

What is your one guilty pleasure?
Vanilla White Mocha. Even though I don’t have them too much anymore – every time I have one from the local coffee shop, it gives me chills. Too much goodness in one cup. 😉
